A giant bluefin tuna, weighing in at a whopping 513lbs, was sold Tuesday for an even more outrageous sum of $177,000. Incredibly, this is only the second highest amount paid for a bluefin tuna. In 2001, a 440lb bluefin tuna was auctioned off at the same Tsukiji fish market for a hefty sum of $220,000. That’s a whole lot of sushi. Now if I can only figure out how to catch one I wouldn’t have to work for a few years.
There’s a new species of micro king salmon invading Northern California’s waters. Some know it as a “Steve-O”, or anything caught under 4 inches.
