This 405lb Yellowfin Tuna caught by Mike Livingston may be the new world record for the species. It was caught on Nov. 30 aboard the Vagabond and must wait 90 days before officially being declared a new world record by the International Game Fish Association.

Humminbird Fishin’ Buddy Portable Fishfinder Review – Part 1
Introduction
I’ve been fishing from rental boats at Los Vaqueros Reservoir a lot lately. It’s a tough place to fish as it is so I wanted to give myself an edge and get a fishfinder that could be easily mounted to the boat. I looked at Humminbird’s Fishin’ Buddy series which consists of four different models all designed with portability in mind.
- 110 Fishin’ Buddy – Down Sonar, 4.0″ 160Vx128H Display, 4 Level Grayscale
- 120 Fishin’ Buddy – Down and Side Sonar, 4.0″ 240Vx160H Display, 8 Level Grayscale
- 130 Fishin’ Buddy – Down and Side Sonar, 4.0″ 320Vx240H Display, 16 Level Grayscale
- 140c Fishin’ Buddy – Down and Side Sonar, 3.5″ 320Vx240H, 256 Colors
I was really intrigued by the side looking sonar and wanted a color screen as well so I chose the Humminbird Fishin’ Buddy 140c.

Apparently this guy from the Netherlands does this quite often. You can read more about it at Fishing Fury.
Kurita Ties Perry’s World Record Largemouth Bass
The International Game Fish Association (IGFA) announced today that Manabu Kurita of Japan tied George Perry’s 78 year old world record for a largemouth bass. Caught in 1932, Perry’s fish weighed in at 22 pounds, 4 ounces. Kurita’s fish was 22 pounds, 4.97 ounces but since it was not at least 2 ounces over Perry’s fish it could not supplant the old record.
